Skill management

The following article will be a guide for how you, as a leader, can use the Skills tab in an employee profile in the Employees module to manage the skills of your employees, as well as the Job profiles tab in this module. Additionally, you will get an overview of your employees' skills can help you make important decisions and effectively put the skills to use.

  1. Go to Employees in the main menu

  2. Click on the relevant employee profile and go to the Skills tab, as shown below to see an overview of your employee's skills:

  3. When clicking on the skill Languages, we can see the employee's proficiency in Danish, English, and German. The numbers correspond to her skill level. For example, her Danish is rated at "1", which represents "Novice"

    • Benchmark: The standard by which the employee is being measured up against, and how closely the employee's skills match the skills that are required by the job profile

    • You can click on the radar icon to demonstrate various elements. The titles along the circumference of the graph show different skills, and within the graph, the separate colors show the difference between the skills required by the job profile, and the actual skills possessed by the employee. As a leader, you can use this graph to get a visual representation of how well your employees' skills match up with the job profile.

    • When hovering the mouse over the different skills, you can see two numbers (out of 100) which demostrate how much the job profile requires and how much the employee scores for the skill:

    • Click on the bar graph icon to represent where your employee stands in regards to the job profile in block format. If the bar falls into the negative axis, this is an indication that the employee lacks the skill to some capacity. This tab allows you to see the job profiles and their respective skills.

      This function is excellent for getting an overview of your employees and how well they match the job profile, compared to each other as well as the job profile itself. You can use this function to more effectively distribute your employees' skills across the organization.

  4. To manage skills in the job profiles section, click on Employees from the main menu

  5. Go to the tab Job Profiles

  6. When clicking on a job profile, it will feature a description and a skills page. On the description page, you will see the Job description, Employees, and Work tasks. This gives you a full description of what tasks are involved in this job and under Employees you can see which employees have this role. Under Work tasks, you can see which tasks the employees must complete, as well as their responsibilities.

  7. Under the Skills tab, you can see an employees skill strength as a radar chart in comparison to specific job profiles or up to four other employees. The employees can be selected from the drop down list under a name.

  8. If you wish to view less than four employees, you can also remove them by clicking on the (x) that appears when hovering over the name:

Assign a job profile to an employee

You can asses an employee's skills against a job profile. In order to do that the employee has to have the relevant job profile assigned. This describes how to assign the job profile.

Prerequisites:

  • The relevant job profile has been created.

  • The element Jobprofile is added to a form, eg. Master Data, seeAdd element to a form.

  1. From the main menu, go to Employees and click on the relevant employee.

  2. Edit the employee's master data for job profile.

  3. Select the relevant job profile for the employee and click Save.

Add element to a form

  1. From the main menu, go to Settings+Forms.

  2. Navigate to the form where the Job profile element should be added.

  3. Go the relevant section in the from and click + Add element.

  4. Expand Existing Elements and search for the element you want to add.

  5. Click on the element and click Save.

  6. Rearrange the elements if required.
