Automation about change of specific elements

This article shows how you can make an automation to ensure a message is generated when there are changes to specific elements e.g. name or address in the master data form.

The first few steps of this article is on how to set up a general automation. 

Automation about change of specific elements 

1. Go to "Settings" in the main menu

1.1. Click on "Automations"

2. Click on "+ New workflow"

2.1. Name the workflow and enter a description if needed

3. Choose "Employee" to address what the automation is about

3.1. Click on "Updated" to address when the automation should be triggered 

 

4. Choose what criteria should be match in order for the automation to be triggered.

4.1. Choose "Employee status" = "Active" (to exclude former employees). Click "and" to add another criteria

4.2. Choose "Form element updated" = "Address", or any other element. Click "Save" 

4.3. The next step is to create a message or notification for the manager, HR or IT, so they know an employee has made changes to a specific element. Click "+ Add action" and choose "Message" Screenshot_2022-11-16_at_11.14.38.png

Here a criteria has been added, the message is only sent if the employee's department is in Emply Denmark. In this example the receiver is the employee's department manager. Remember to fill out the subject line and the message and then click "Save" to save the automation.
