How to create an online course
Create/edit an online course
1. Go to "Learning" and click on "New course"
2. Choose the type of course
In this case we choose "Online course".
3. Information about the online course is filled in the empty boxes
Specify a title for the online course, specify who is responsible for the online course, what area should the online course be available for, duration of the online course and maybe allocated points when the online course has been completed. An appropriate image can be uploaded in the menu to the left etc..
OBS! You can advantageously hover your mouse over the next to the setting options to display keywords / explanation of functionality.
4. When the information has been specified under "Settings", proceed to "Description", "Teams" and "Access"
Specify an appropriate description along with ex. granted access specified by "department", "users" or "roles" to the online course. Finish and continue by clicking on "Save" at the top to the right.
Edit online courses
1. To continue creating a course, or editing an existing course, go to the setup of the overview of the courses, and select the course you want to edit.
2. Click on "Edit" at the top right corner.
3. In this window you do the setting of the content of the online course
When you click on "Add step" you are given the following options.
After the chosen option, the tab is named as needed and then actual setting is done per tab.
3.1 Upload files for preview
"Slideshow" gives you the option to ex. upload a PDF-file, which can be previewed directly in Emply by the people attending the course.
3.2 Setup element types
"Sections" is the area where you can set up different types of elements just like many other places in Emply. These can be new elements or existing elements.
3.3 Upload ZIP-files
In this area you have the option to upload the "fixed package" which has already been developed e.g. in another tool. That is, the student / participant can access several files at once.
3.4 Insert URL for a website
Under "Website" it is advantageous to link directly to an external URL for displaying content.
4. Confirm or discard the total setup at the top left corner.
After, click "back" via the grey arrows to the left of the title of the course.
