Prepare your company's job architecture

Before you start building your the job architecture in Emply People, we recommend strongly that you build it visually for yourself, so you have the full picture and can identify any issues that need correcting.

  • Job Profile: This represents a role or job within the organization. Name,  Job Family and Job Level are required. Other fields are optional.

  • Job Family: This groups related Job Profiles into a broader functional area. Name is required. This can be linked to multiple Job Profiles.

Optionally, you can also include the following in your job architecture:

  • Job Level Category: This provides an optional grouping of Job Levels, such as a country-specific level structure. Name is required. Categories can be used for filtering and assignment. It can contain multiple Job Levels.

  • Career Track: Represents a career path, such as manager, specialist or individual contributor.

When you have your Job profiles described and they have all been assigned a Job Level, you can start to build it in Emply People. If no Job profiles exist in Emply People you can start from the Excel template, see Build job architecture using the Excel template. If you already have job profiles or prefer building directly in Emply People, see Build job architecture in Emply People.
