Get started with Time Tracking

The European Working Time Directive is a legislation that will be active from 01 July 2024 in Denmark, with other EU member states to follow. This legislation requires that employers provide a tool for their employees to track their working hours and breaks. This is to minimize overworking, work-related illness, and stress amongst employees.

Emply solves for this with our Time Tracking feature – available from 03 June 2024 – free of charge to all our customers who have purchased our Employee module.

Important

Before employees have access to Time Tracking in the Emply app and Emply web, the feature must enabled by an HR or Admin by following these steps:

  1. From the Main menu on Emply on the web, select Settings > Account > Roles.

  2. Choose the Employee role and click Edit in the bottom toolbar to configure Time Tracking access in the Emply app and web for your employees.

  3. Expand Employees and scroll down to the new Time registration option.

  4. Selecting Own will enable Time Registration for employees.

Selecting Own for Time registration will allow all your employees to only view their captured time. They will not be able to capture, edit, or delete their time.

Selecting Hide for Time registration will hide Time Tracking in the Emply app and web.

  5. Expand the Employees and select Own to allow Time Registration for employees.

Selecting Own in Manage time will allow all your employees to capture, edit, or delete their own time.

Selecting Hide in Manage time will do the same as selecting Time registration + “Own” i.e. employees will be able to only view their captured time (if any exists).

To allow the employee to register his or her schedule and time blocks Own must be selected for both options. This is the default setting.
